Join OCHCH and NAMI Ohio for a discussion on the dying process and its impact on the mental health of both patients and their families.

Topics covered include common mental health symptoms experienced by patients who are dying as well as basic strategies to help address patient’s mental health needs and provide appropriate support for their family members.

Our Speaker

Danielle Smart MSW, LSW, Client Navigator, NAMI Ohio

Danielle Smart is a licensed social worker and the client navigator at NAMI Ohio, a grassroots, non-profit organization that has focused for over forty years on providing advocacy, education, and support to people living with mental illness and their families. Danielle completed her education at The Ohio State University, receiving her Bachelor of Science and Master of Social Work. Throughout her social work career in central Ohio, Danielle has worked with a variety of different clients and populations, including pregnant people considering adoption, adults living with severe and persistent mental illness, and adults living with HIV. In her current role at NAMI Ohio, Danielle works to connect people living with mental illness and their families to resources in their communities. Danielle is passionate about ensuring that all Ohioans have access to appropriate, affordable, and available mental health services.
