This session will focus on: Face-to-Face, Physician Billing & HOPE Compliance

Updates to the Hospice Billing regulations and compliance are key to a successful revenue cycle for your hospice. This series will take you through defining initial eligibility for the hospice patient, defining the specific regulatory requirements for admitting patients, the process of the Notice of Election, filing final claims and ensuring that you are reimbursed accurately. In addition, this series will review the Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP) basics to be met to avoid penalties and the key data elements that are collected from Hospice claims that assist medical reviewers in determining whether you are a risk to the program. HOPE is the newest element of hospice requirements, and this series will discuss how the first year of implementation has gone. This series is a must for any that need to remain current on Hospice billing and compliance requirements.

Melinda, with more than 33 years in home care, has over 23 years of executive speaking and educating experience, including extensive day-to-day interaction with home care and hospice professionals.  She routinely conducts Home Care and Hospice Reimbursement Workshops and speaks at state association meetings throughout the country.  Melinda has profound experience in Medicare PDGM training, billing, collections, case-mix calculations, chart reviews and due diligence.  Medicare Review appeals with all Medicare MACs have become the forefront of Melinda’s current impact on the industry. Melinda is currently Chair of the The Alliance/HHFMA Advisory Board and Work Group, serves on the Home Care Association of Florida Board of Directors, and the Tennessee Association for Home Care Board of Directors.
