DESCRIPTION:This is a free webinar for OCHCH & OCHN Members.More than 143 million American workers are protected by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)\, the federal law that establishes minimum wage\, overtime pay\, recordkeeping\, and youth employment standards.In 2024 the US DOL's Wage and Hour Division recovered more than $37 million in back wages for workers in the health care industry. To help employers stay in compliance with the FLSA\, this presentation will provide an overview of the main compliance principals of the FLSA and take a deeper look at exemptions from minimum wage and overtime for executive\, administrative\, and professional employees. Topics include an overview of the FLSA wage provisions\, employment relationships\, and the salary level\, salary basis\, and duties requirements for exempt employees. Over the last decade she has acted as a subject matter expert on the laws enforced by the Wage & Hour Division\, including: the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Davis Bacon and Related Acts.
