Accurate hospice coding is no longer just a compliance function—it is now directly tied to eligibility validation, claim integrity, audit risk, and HOPE data accuracy. As CMS tightens oversight through expanded HOPE reporting requirements, hospice organizations must ensure that their ICD-10 coding, Certification of Terminal Illness (CTI), Plan of Care, and HOPE assessment data are fully aligned and defensible.

This advanced, case-based hospice coding webinar is designed for experienced hospice professionals seeking deeper mastery of principal vs. secondary diagnosis selection, comorbidity reporting, sequencing rules, and regulatory documentation standards across the full hospice episode of care. Using real-world hospice scenarios, participants will walk through complex conditions including cardiac disease, CVA, dementia, respiratory disease, ALS, MS, and neoplastic diagnoses, with direct application to claims, CTI narratives, plan of care development, and HOPE Section I Active Diagnoses.

Participants will gain clarity on:

What can and cannot be reported as a primary terminal diagnosis
How to properly sequence related vs. unrelated conditions
How comorbidities affect terminal prognosis and regulatory coverage
How to ensure HOPE assessment responses accurately reflect coded diagnoses
How documentation supports hospice eligibility, claim payment, and audit defense

This session is ideal for hospice coders, clinical documentation specialists, QA staff, compliance leaders, and hospice nurses involved in certification, recertification, and HOPE completion.
