OCHCH has partnered with the Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina and the South Carolina Home Care & Hospice Association to promote this educational session with Palmetto GBA. Registration via OCHCH closes 24 hours ahead of the session. Presented by Dr. Shane Mull and Charles Canaan, this workshop is designed to help provide information and updates to help Hospice Medical Directors and Hospice Physicians gain knowledge on Medicare rules and regulations in the hospice setting.

Speakers


Charles Canaan, MPH, BSN, RN, CCA, CPC, CPB, CPMA, APM, Senior Provider Relations Representative, Provider Outreach and Education, Palmetto GBA

Charles Canaan has over 30 years of diverse nursing experience in a variety of healthcare settings, to include inpatient, outpatient, home and organizational settings. His education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, a Master of Public Health Degree in Health Promotion and Education and a Graduate Studies Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Studies from the University of South Carolina, and a Coding for Health Care Professionals Certificate from Trident Technical College. He reviews medical utilization data and trends. He currently provides education and consultation to Medicare Part A and Part B providers with learning needs.


Shane R. Mull, M.D., MHA, FAAFP, CPC, Senior Medical Director, Palmetto GBA

Dr. Shane Mull is the Senior Medical Director for Palmetto GBA. He has over 15 years of practice in rural primary care, emergency departments and military medicine. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has degrees from the University of South Carolina (M.D.), Medical University of South Carolina (M.H.A.) and the College of Charleston (B.A. and B.S.). He is a Colonel in the South Carolina Army National Guard where he serves as a Flight Surgeon. He has been awarded fellowship in the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC).

There are no Continuing Education Units/Credits or Contact Hours offered for this event.

Audience:  While this course is specifically designed for Hospice Medical Directors, Hospice Physicians, and Advance Practice Providers (APPs), all interested parties are welcome to attend.

Confirmation:  After you register via OCHCH, you will receive a confirmation email. Prior to the event, you will receive a Zoom registration link from the organizers. You will need to register through this link to attend the webinar. After registering via Zoom, you will receive a confirmation email which will include a join link to access the webinar, a dial-in number and an access code to listen in via telephone. The organizers will send any pertinent handouts if available.

Registration Fee:  The registration fee covers one individual’s attendance. Multiple site participation from individuals within your agency will require separate registration. For example: if your agency has paid for 1 participating registration but 3 people from your agency would like to attend, your agency will need to pay a separate registration fee for all 3 participants. In addition, if your agency has sent in 1 registration but 3 people from your agency register through the Zoom link, your agency will be invoiced the registration fee for the additional 2 registrations. The handouts will be emailed to you to the email address you provide.

Cancellation and Substitution Policy:  Fees will be refunded, or invoices will be adjusted, only if written notice of cancellation is received by OCHCH 10 days prior to the event. In the event of cancellation, OCHCH will retain, or charge, 50% of the initial registration fee, per registrant, to cover administrative overhead. Once written cancellation is received, an OCHCH staff member will review for approval. If your cancellation is approved, we will email back a confirmation of the cancellation that your agency should retain on file in case of questions. Substitutions may be made up to the day of the event. Please contact ochch@ochch.org if you have any questions.
